About Liz and Rona
Liz Foxwell is an award winning senior manager in schools and industry. During her time in Education she has won both the Education Resource Awards (ERA) and the BETT award for innovation and publishing. She is an advocate of the positive effects of change management and has supported the pastoral development of a number of establishments in her professional career. This practical book utilises many years of chalk-face experiences.
Prior to working in the private sector Liz was responsible for supporting failing schools with additional support at senior leader team and headship levels. Liz has worked in London and Essex schools and has liaised with educational leaders at all levels including supporting minority cultural and linguistic groups. Her practical approach to supporting learners at all levels led to the highest improvement in exam results.
Liz was a member of the Expert Reference Panel (BESA) Policy Commission and has also written and co-authored several books and is much in demand as an education consultant, speaker, writer, reviewer and judge.
Dr Rona Tutt has taught in state and independent, day and residential, mainstream and special schools. She is the former head teacher of a special school and a Past President of the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT). She has received an OBE for her services to special needs education.
Rona has been on the Expert Reference Group of the Autism Education Trust (AET) since its inception. She served on the DfE’s Salt Review into the training of teachers for children with SLD and PMLD. She was on the Steering Board for the DfE-funded Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD) Research Project. Subsequently, she was one of the module managers for the Complex Needs online training materials.
Rona is vice chair of governors at 2 special schools. She has written and co-authored several books and is much in demand as an education consultant, speaker, writer, reviewer and judge
